Thanks to a donation pledge by Bruno Schurter, a foundation was established under his name. This foundation shall take care of the improvement of the welfare of SCHURTER employees worldwide: be it in the field of education, child care, care for the elderly or any kind of need.

Foundations are by no means new to Bruno Schurter. During his 38 years in the USA, he was actively involved in several foundations dedicated to improving the common welfare. Now, through this new foundation, the social standing of the company he is a major shareholder in, should also be strengthened. Bruno Schurter: "After decades of serving the SCHURTER Group, I would like to return some of the fruits of my labor to the common welfare through this foundation. At the same time, it is important to me to include the fourth generation of the founding family on the Foundation Board and to win them over to a social commitment for the benefit of employees and their families."

Promotion and assistance

The purpose of the foundation is to promote and support current and retired employees as well as their relatives of the group companies held by SCHURTER Holding AG worldwide. In particular, young employees are to be supported in their professional training and further education. Support and assistance shall also be provided to employees of all ages in cases of illness, accident, disability or hardship through no fault of their own.

Nature of the foundation

In contrast to most foundations, the foundation board is allowed to make payouts from the income as well as from the foundation's assets in order to realize the foundation's purpose.

The Foundation Board is constituted by a total of six persons: a company representative (Marc Hägeli); a foundation expert (Stefanie Holm-Lustenberger) and the representatives of the Schurter family (Fabienne Schurter, Céline Schurter, Louis Sigg and Bruno Schurter).
