A successful presentation at the "Highlights of Mechatronics" from the team project work of Michael Portnow, SCHURTER GmbH

At the "Highlights of Mechatronics", students on the Mechatronics course at the Cooperative State University Karlsruhe (DHBW) successfully presented their project work studies at the auditorium.

Within his dual studies, Michael Portnow from SCHURTER GmbH in Endingen, presented the team project "BABO" (pick-and-place machine of components for surface mounting) in the foyer of the DHBW in Karlsruhe in a LIVE demonstration, together with three other mechanical students. The group project of creating a low cost pick-and-place system was for learning and training purposes and supported by DHBW Karlsruhe. With this sponsorship, the project team which consisted of 4 students was able to implement the complete project of producing this special machine, utilising the students’ core competences. The basis of this team project was the expertise gained by the dual students during their practical phases at the respective company. Mr Portnow has developed a universal PCAP test station for optical and electrical testing of touch panels at the competence centre for the input systems division in Endingen.
